Daily Random Thought.

I was just thinking and this really focuses on iPod Touch/iPhone users but wouldn't it be cool if there was a LimeWire application? I know it would never be approved but I think that would be great...

Things I Covet: The Wonder Girls

The Wonder Girls came into the music scene in 2007 and that's when I discovered them and fell in love with their music. Ever since their debut their popularity has grown to the point to where they are now called the "Little Sisters of Korea." The Wonder Girls: Sun-ye, Ye-eun, Yoo-bin, Sun-mi, & So-hee have provided us songs like Irony, So Hot, Nobody, and the song that helped them become stars: Tell Me. Tell me became so popular that people all over Korea and even other parts of the world started to perform the dance routine and many performances can be seen on youtube. It became known as the "Tell Me Virus."

I too have become a victim of the "Tell Me Virus." It was the first song I heard from them and I instantly feel in love with the song. I love the beat and the techno of the song and the dance doesn't hurt either! Since then they've come out with great songs like So Hot and Nobody which I also love as well. Even though I don't understand Korean I just love listening to their songs and when I can I watch clips of their music videos that have english subtitles so I can understand what they are saying. To this day they are still promoting Nobody, since it's a very popular song, winning "Song of the Year" for 2008 after being out for only about 4 months. They also won Best Music Video for Nobody and best female group this year as well.

Now not everyone is going to like their music, especially since it's in a different language, but that's one of the reason why I like them. It's a change from the music that is always playing on the radio and TV here and I think it's always a good thing to try new things. That why I look at music from other parts of this world, cuz sometimes you can find gems like the Wonder Girls or other artists that you might find you love and want to hear more. Plus for me a lot of the music I've heard from other countries I find better than the music we hear here, but that's my opinion.

Here is the song that created the "Tell Me Virus"

And here is the song that won them "Song of the Year!"

Websites You Should View: Twitter

In an early blog I mentioned that I had about 4 different Twitter applications on my iPod, yet not everyone know what Twitter is or doesn't use it. Well I'm here it inform you of one of the sites I've fallen in love with and that I think you should check out!

If you don't know what Twitter is, it's a micro-blogging site where you can post short, 140 characters in total messages called "tweets" that people/friends who "follow" your Twitter can receive and respond to. You have the option of following others twitters as well so that you can receive updates when they tweet about something. It's an easy way to keep in contact with friends and find out what they are doing as well. You can even send and receive tweets from a cell phone or a PMP, like the iPod touch which makes telling people what you are doing that much easier. Twitter has been growing in popularity because of the many celebrities and news sourses that have join the site. It has started to become a place where individuals can receive news and updates about certain events that other media haven't reported about yet.

Now if you follow a lot of people, hearing about what they are eating at the time or that they might be doing laundry might get a little annoying after a while. Because of that you have the options of choosing if you want to receive updates via your phone or just go to the website to see any updates, and you can even block people you don't want to receive updates from or random followers you don't even know.

I guess the reason why I love Twitter so much is because it's interesting what people tweet about. I follow a bunch of people who make youtube videos, work on websites and the internet and friends. The tweets I get are very entertaining and it's just a nice way to see updates in peoples lives. It's very easy to use and it can be actually really fun. That's why it's one of the websites I love. If you join you can follow me @ http://twitter.com/WonderPanda.

Things I Covet: Apple

First post of the new year! I still find it weird that it's 2009, time can fly by so fast.

Now on to the Covet post: Apple
I love electronics and I think they can make lives easier and more entertaining to a certain point. Apple of course is one of the leading companies when it comes to computers, software and music. since the iPod and iTunes media player came out in 2001 and the iTunes online store in 2003 Apple helped change the way people listen to music. Of course we can't forget about their computers either. Apple has grown from the "simple" Apple 1 motherboards to the powerful iMacs and Macbooks of today.

There is a big reason that many people, including myself love Apple products and that is functionality. Now I've only used iPods and iTunes. I haven't had a change to really play around with or own a Apple computer to have a true opinion about their computers but when it comes to the iPod and iTunes I truly love how they work so easily. I think what gives the iPod an edge over the other MP3 players and PMPs (Portable Media Players) in my opinon is the interface of the device. I've used other MP3 players before I got my first iPod but I remember all the time I would think about the iPod and how it's easy to view songs by artists or albums and how the click wheel seemed to be the coolest thing. It made it easier to browse through your lists of music at a faster pace. Now with the iPod touch the iPod has moved into a different category compared to other MP3 players. Now we can surf the internet (if you are in an idea that has open Wi-Fi), play games, watch video and a lot more all while still listening to music!

The iTunes store just made the choice to move to the iPod simpler as well. I used many different online music media stores back in the day including iTunes but also Napster, eMusic, MusicMatch and another store that I can't think of at the moment. Back then all of them had something to offer because when I might have looked at iTunes for a song they wouldn't have it, yet Napster would or vice-versa. When iTunes started to grow though I started to see that more of the songs that I was looking to buy were now also at iTunes, so I didn't have to go to the other online stores. Now iTunes has most of the music I want to download now and is always adding to their library. I still have trouble when it comes to Korean, Japanese, and Brit-pop music but iTunes is improving on that.

The one thing I don't like about Apple though are their prices, yet of course I overlook that because I know the product works and is most likely one of the best products you can get. Is 400 dollars too much for an 32 GB iPod touch or 1,999 for a Macbook pro? Most likely yes, but is that price going to stop me from buying it? Most likely no, it just will slow me down from getting it. That's sort of the Apple magic it has over people. They can have almost whatever price they want, and people will still buy them because they are comfortable with the iPod or the Macbooks/iMacs and I am one of them.

Banned Words?

I'm starting another section of the blog called "WTF?" (What the F***) for when I come across something that just makes me go WTF and that I think you should know about.

Moving on I was looking at the featured stories on Yahoo.com and I came across the headline "This year's banished words" which caught my attention so I decided to click on the link to read the entire thing. What I read surprised me to the point where I though WTF, since this was the first time I had ever heard about it. Apparently there is a annual list called the "Lake Superior State University's annual List of Words to Be Banished from the Queen's English for Mis-use, Over-use and General Uselessness" and it is in it's 34th version. It's a list of words that people wish were banned or never used again in society. This year they "banned" 15 words/phrases, including: Game-changing, Green or Going green, Carbon footprint, Change, Maverick, and Monkey. They even "banned" an emoticon this year: the heart or as it's better known the <3.

Now I understand why a list like this is in existence and that they creators and supporters have a right to there opinion but for me I just can't understand why. I mean if you don't like a word then don't use it and if you here another person say it then just ignore it. If you let a word annoy you or affect you in some way then I think you need to look at yourself than the actual word. It's a word, the only way it has any power is because you allow it to. The phrase "Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me" (Which I bet is on the "List") really is true. It makes me wonder who these people are who created the "List" and I wonder if they are all old. Personally words don't really bother me. It's usually more so the person who is saying the words that bothers me.

Also, when you see stuff like this don't you just want to throw it bad into the creators faces? I know I do, I just want to go up to one of them and just start talking and using all the words they "banned" that I can in a conversation. I mean when something is "banned" like this, doesn't it make you want to use them more? I mean they "banned" the word Monkey, and I read why they "banned" it because everyone was overusing it as a suffix. My response: GET OVER IT! Your not going to stop people using the word Monkey as a suffix, because there will always be people who think it's the coolest thing they could add to there screen name or joke, so get off your high horse and adapt! Just because of this "List" my next screen name will have the word Monkey in it because I love Monkeys! You're not going to stop us from using our favorite words and phrases, no matter how many people hate them or understand them. As long as they have a following they will exist in this world. The only way words can die out is if everybody stops using them. Then and only then can you truly "Ban" a word. And just to prove that we can use any word we want here is a nice clip that makes me laugh every time I watch it. Be forewarned, it's very inappropriate and I would rate it PG-14. Take this Lake Superior State University.

New Years Resolutions?

So the year 2009 is almost here and I've started to think what would I want to do with the year. I usually hate to make New Years Resolutions because I find them pointless since I think that if you want to do something with your life then you should do it for you, not because you made a Resolution about it, but for some reason this year I thought "Why not. It couldn't really hurt anything could it?" and I came up with some.

1) My first New Years Resolution is that I need to send "thank you" cards to the people who sent me gifts and cards this Christmas who I can't thank in person. My family and I always get cards from family who live far away from us so I can't see them in person, so I have to send a card or letter to send my thanks... That is if I actually sent them a card... In my 20 years of life, I can't remember a time where I have actually sent a "thank you" card to the people who deserved it. Saying that I've always wanted to and have thought about sending cards out, but I always forget and I become lazy and never do it. This year I hope to change that!

2) Secondly is just to keep my grades up. I have a nice GPA and I don't want to lose that since I've worked the hardest I've ever worked in school since coming to college. I want to make sure that I have the GPA requirements to stay in the honor society Phi Theta Kappa, and make sure that I can transfer to the universities I want to go to in the future.

3) Next I want to start eating better and working out more. I don't have that bad of a diet but I know it could be better. I need to start eating more veggies and stop eating a lot of junk food when there is better food to eat. Also for working out, I just need to do it more. I don't think I would ever join a gym, cuz I would hate to pay the fee and I don't know if I would really like being a gym member. I need to start running again, I know why I stopped and it's a stupid reason and it's another story for later. I plan to go on daily runs again.

4) My last Resolution is to move out of Arizona and move back to Oregon. I don't like the climate of Arizona at all. I just don't feel like at home here in Arizona. Oregon however is a different story. I lived there for about 13 to 14 years of my life and because of that I feel more tied to Oregon. Plus I love the rain and the cold.

Now who knows how many I will actually accomplish, but I hope I can complete them all. Some will be harder than others but I know I can do it. It's all comes down to that I actually do them, since I can be lazy and forgetful.

Anyways I hope all of you enjoyed 2008 for everything it brought to you and now lets all welcome 2009 with open arms, cuz it's not going anywhere for another year.

Tagged: 16 Factoids

So two of my friends on Facebook decided to tag me to do a answer session where I tell them 16 random facts that they might not know about. So I decided to do it here instead! Have a look into who I call "Me."

Tag 16: Rules: Make 16 random statements about yourself. Tag 16 people, including the one who tagged you. Got it?

1. I was bit by my own dog right around the eye. I was lucky that she didn't bite hard enough that I could have lost my eyesight in my left eye. I have the scars to prove it as well.

2. I love Twitter. Even though I don't have many people following me on the site I think it's just one of the coolest inventions for the internet. (I have 3 different Twitter apps on my iPod...)

3. I'm a big fan of the Wonder Girls, a South Korean girl group and Pandas. That's where I got the idea for my screen name, plus a video helped as well.

4. I still play Pokemon, even though not as much as I used to when I was younger. It's takes a long time collecting every single Pokemon without cheating, and that's why I like it cuz it's a game I'll be playing for a long time and still enjoy it. Water Pokemon are my favorite

5. I just found that Blogger/Blogspot says "Pokemon" is spelled correctly, yet "pokemon" is not... I find small stupid things like that interesting.

6. I used to collect stuffed animals. I still have like around 5-7 of the ones that mean the most to me and that I would want to past down to my children, but I used to have around the 200s-300s of them.

7. Speaking of stuffed animals, is it weird that I want to go to a "Build-a-Bear" and make a panda?

8. While I am Asian, I can not speak, write, or understand any form of Asian Language. I saw also raised by loving American parents so I don't know anything about my culture either.

9. I hate cars. While I don't mind driving them I really do not like using them if I can walk or travel without them. I will refuse a ride when I know I can get there by myself, even though it might that even longer too.

10. Portland, Oregon is my favorite city. To me the city just has the homey feeling that I love. I love the rain as well, so the city fits me well.

11. I love video games, plain and simple. I'm not a hardcore gamer and I'm not the best but I find it relaxing to just play.

12. I love superhero stories. I've always wanted to have superpowers and go save the world. Telekinesis would be my power!

13. I find Cherry Trees to be the most beautiful trees in the world. To watch them blossom... That's why Sakura/Cherry Blossoms are my favorite flower

14. I like to dance. I find it to be a fun way to express yourself and just have a good time. I don't like it when people say "I don't dance, or I can't dance." Everyone can dance, whether it's good or bad is not important. I see dancing as a fun art form

15. I have an idea of what my dream wedding would be, which is weird because I'm a guy and I don't think I get much say when it comes to planning a wedding :P. Anyways I just view at as beautiful and white, pure I guess you could say.

16. I have what I like to call a dual personality. When I'm around people I act a certain way, but when I'm alone or don't care what's going on then I change drastically, almost to the point of being cruel. It's like I cover myself with numbers of masks and I can change them at will. I don't know why, but it's one of the personality flaws that I have that I love the most about myself.

So there you go. I gave you a little look into what I call "me." It's every hard for me to talk about myself like this since I actually hate to do it, I rather just disappear or focus on another person. Anyways I think this Tag is official done!

Here is the video that pretty much inspired my Screen Name as said above:

(Also I have 4 Twitter apps on my iPod by the time this blog was finished. I need help...)
